How to Build a Gentle Night Skincare Routine
A calm evening routine can soothe reactive skin and support its barrier while you rest. Here is a simple, gentle plan anyone can follow.

Dry skin lets scent evaporate quickly, while hydrated skin acts like a sponge. Apply an unscented lotion or a dab of petroleum jelly to the spots where you will spray, then add perfume on top. The trick works best right after a shower, when skin is still a little warm and damp.
Pulse points, where blood vessels sit close to the surface, release fragrance gently through the day. The neck, wrists, behind the ears, inner elbows, and behind the knees are classic choices. One note: do not rub your wrists together, since the friction can break up the delicate top notes.
Matching body wash, lotion, and mist in the same scent family builds a base that lingers far longer than perfume alone. A light spritz on clothes or a brush-through of hair adds a trail, though direct spraying on hair can dry it, so a scented hair mist is kinder.
Concentration matters. Parfum and eau de parfum hold up better than eau de toilette or cologne, and heavier bases such as amber, vanilla, musk, or woods tend to outlast bright citrus and florals. If your scent disappears by lunch, the formula, not your skin, may be the reason.
Heat, light, and humidity break a fragrance down. Keep bottles in a cool, dark drawer rather than a sunny bathroom shelf, and keep the cap on tight. With the right care, a beloved perfume stays true from the first spray to the last.
