How to Build a Capsule Wardrobe for Work
A work capsule is less about owning less and more about owning pieces that talk to each other. Here is how to build one that carries every kind of office day.

Two necklaces read clean and minimal, three feel styled yet still elegant. Four or more without clear differences in length or weight is usually where it tips into too much. Begin with a short delicate chain, add a medium pendant as your focal piece, and finish with one longer simple chain to elongate the neckline.
Separation is what makes layering look considered. A choker or 14 to 16 inch chain sits at the base of the neck, an 18 inch piece lands at the chest, and a 20 to 24 inch chain falls longer. Leave at least two inches between each so they do not tangle or compete, and the eye can read every layer on its own.
Pair a fine chain with a slightly thicker or textured one to create contrast without clutter. If one necklace is bold, keep the others refined so one piece leads and the rest support. Stacking several heavy chains at once reads as overwhelming rather than styled, so let weight do the talking in just one place.
Every good stack needs a hero. It might be a single pendant or a slightly chunkier chain, while the others stay delicate. Without a focal point the look scatters. If your top already has detail, pull the layers back so the necklace does the work instead of fighting the neckline.
A deep V echoes graduated layers that follow its line, a crew neck wants a shorter stack, and a high neck or turtleneck is better left to earrings and rings. Open the top two buttons of a shirt and let the chains rest on the chest for a natural frame. When the necklace mirrors the neckline, the whole look feels cohesive.
